Six Strings

Christmas is coming! Time for food, presents and some free time…..This year can be summarised as fulfilling….I noe I have done alot this year, guitar classes and some really interesting courses that i took. Finally got my piano playing started. People may say that piano is not me….but it is really something i wanna do well……Seeing people sight read and play is just soooo amazing! Watching my piano teacher play is soooo cool…..My dream is to play the same song on both the guitar and piano!

Then its the vocal lesson. Classical vocal. Italian classical vocal. Made the music school neighbours complain. and again soooo not me.

The breathing exercises…..made me laugh out loud the first time round…..haha superr funny lor!

The flower arrangement classes….Haha tis one is really therapeutic……just sit there and stick flowers into the mould…..great if u want to get away from life’s hectic schedule…..the teacher’s cool…..donoe how she can think up of a pattern and just do it…..its an art form, makes me improve on my chinese too…..have to speak in that language to her…..haha…..great!

Tennis anyone…..imagine big fat me running ard literally chasing balls…….haha i have a disadvantage…..i’m short, so its an uphill battle to play well……i played mini tennis in pri school…..that sparked my interest in tennis……15 years sia….and still chasing balls, not hitting the ball back…….epic fail lor…LOL

Not feeling great over the last three days…..tired…the machine is on the verge of breaking down….I know I’ve done a fair bit this year…..do people appreciate that….? Hell no…

Just this lousy feeling inside me…..Was reading my good friend’s blog….yeah it made me self reflect….am i too nice for my own good…? Answering every query the best I can…trying my best to fulfill the wishes of those around me…..what do i get in the end….? Just comments that you are not trying hard enough…..and how some other people are sooo good…..so wonderful in what they do….I am not a carpet on the floor….

I just want to wind down and spend more time with family and friends……contemplated on some issues recently…..bugs me to hell that no matter how hard you try, some other people are just going to be better……black is the colour for the moment…..really wish the dark clouds will pass……I’m crappy when there is no sun…..gloomy weather makes me feel down again….

stuck in REVERSE…..

November has come and i’m finally feeling the effects of not stopping for the last two years…..it has come to a point when I had the off nights and I just donoe what to do with myself….Ended up sleeping the night away…..and then waking up and just thinking in the dark…..I’m not a machine, just so very zoned in on work……It felt very weird when i swam tt day….like i’m not at one with the water….it doesnt usually feel tt way…sorry guys just one of my moody nights…..

I have a week break from music school in December…..Need to plan what to do……I’m always worried how students feel abt my classes and whether they actually enjoy what i teach them…..Feedback is always good…..and really some of my students are really my good frens now……thanks to those who really endure my eccentricities….

I need to be distracted all the time……what actually makes me tick and what drives me to wake up every morning…..? Sometimes when the last class is over for the day, I dont want to go home, cos sometimes home is not such a warm place after all…..was at grandma’s last nite…and its stilll the same problem……every family has issues…my family is chronic…….ahh what the heck…..i’m crashing tonite…..sorry guys….

These two days of the week are super mad…..actually i love sundays better than saturdays…..by the time i teach bedok cc on sunday nite, i’m kinda relaxed, and the thought of finishing my last class of the week makes me super high….so just imagine a super fat monkey running ard class, smling like a bloody idiot…..LOL…..

And I would like to dedicate the next paragraph to the ukelele-or uke for short. My Thanks to Mr Ong for showing me the kind of commitment that I really wish for every student. Dear Mr Ong, 8 ukes and counting……And it gives me a personal goal to really master tis tiny instrument…..and to start collecting ukes……can someone tell me where the shop Ukelele Movement is….? Think its in Beatty Road……

And to really end my day……My dear S….Everyday with u is a blessing, I love u and really wanna spend more time with u…..i’m glad u understand that I have to work…..my apologies for always having u wait for me to end my classes….Muacks!!

hello, how are u guys doing….? i have been super busy with classes as usual, no more room to manuvere anymore….I guess the school exams must be over rite now, can everyone get back to guitar pls….? Hope u guys din miss me much( evil laughter )…

Its been a hectic two months, mostly stuck in the music school( I practically live here lor) Got to know many people in this area-The kopitiam auntie, the chicken rice uncle, the couple from the clothing shop, the cobbler ( Guess I’m over friendly sometimes ).

The few things in life I’m working on now- The box drumming, the harmonica ( yesss i have to play a song for someone ), and oh ya the flower arrangement classes. Its weird, but i get a high when i arrange flowers ( hmmz was i born the right gender? )….

Anyways i will be starting to post again, so yeah students and visitors alike, pls leave me a comment, so that I noe how have u guys been….bye for now….:P

Sorry for tis long leave of absence….was tied up with work recently…Classes have been ongoing fast and furious….The youngest student nw is 5 yrs old….super talented and real sense of potential in him….really would like to groom him and see how far he goes. Met 2 new students which are super talented… The first one is a 44 yr old dad with two teenage kids….this fella is really special…..which dad in the world listens and plays green day, my chemical romance, and linkin park, just for his kids….? The second one is even better….she hasnt touched the guitar for close to 15 years….but when she started playing again in the room, its like woah, the voice and the playing, its like why she didnt go into the music scene at all….?

Its been a gd teacher’s day…had a great buffett at the Plaza with the other teachers…..international cuisine…..havent had a buffett for a long time cos I do poorly in buffetts……eat too much too fast, and then cant go for 3rd or 4th round…..

Which gives me the motivation to go on….to just teach, and interact with students, to make a difference in their lives….Just want to watch the young students grow up and hopefully, the guitar will be part of their lives all the time…..

I started working at Elite Music in June 2009, during the school holidays, the working conditions are great..the students are quite hardworking, currently having around 25 students there….haha more pictures will be posted soon!

Ukelele Class at Eunos Primary

The Ukelele, four string instrument, much similar to guitar, tuning from the bottom string, A, E, C, G. Falling more in love with the instrument day by day as it is really enjoyable to play(Think Jason Mraz)(Imaging yourself on the beach). Love teaching this instrument to young kids because it is easy to handle due to its small size.
